In many training courses, the teacher is the leader of the lesson, the focus of attention and the primary disseminator of the information. The teacher shows his presentation, often in the form of Powerpoint slides, answers questions, lets the participants practice the theory and gives feedback.
Participants in the flipped classroom are more involved. They study the theory at home and during the lesson they work on problems live independently or in small groups under the guidance of a change guide. It is a form of blended learning that is already widely used in higher education. The change guide is available for questions during the study.
An IPMA certification is the best step towards demonstrably better project, program and portfolio management (PPP). It ensures that projects become manageable, that the competences of professionals visibly improve and that organizations can provide a hallmark of quality and transparency in the field of project management. IPMA certification is world-leading.
IPMA stands for “International Project Management Association”. This is an umbrella association of national project management industry associations. One of the important activities of the trade associations is the certification, standardization and accreditation of project managers and project management.
In this context, IPMA published the Individual Competence Baseline ICB 2015 (ISBN 4.0-97894-92338) in 006. At the same time, it becomes clear that IPMA does not focus on knowledge and skills development based on a particular method (such as, for example, PRINCE2 © or Project-based working ©) in the professionalization question, but based on individual competencies; applying knowledge (“knowledge”), expertise (“skills”) and skills (“abilities”) to achieve desired results.
The ICB 4.0 is an integral competence standard that individuals who are active in the project, program and portfolio work field must meet. The ICB 4.0 builds on previous versions, but contextual and behavioral competences are now more central. Themes that receive more attention are, for example:
Being able to respond flexibly to continuously changing circumstances is more important than sticking to plans. The role of the project manager is shifting from a regulating manager to a process intermediary between business management, users and suppliers.
In order to be able to successfully fulfill the role of project manager in the contemporary project context, the ICB 4.0 recognizes a total of 28 competences, which are divided into 3 competence areas:
For project management, there are four IPMA levels in which you can certify. This way everyone who is active in projects can find a suitable level. If you are a project employee or starting project manager, then IPMA d for you. If you have at least three years of experience, IPMA C perhaps appropriate. Then IPMA B is for the project manager with at least five years of demonstrable experience in more complex projects. And ultimately, IPMA A is intended for the most experienced project managers. Different exam components, admission requirements and fees apply for each certification level.
