The YOWYO! Agile mindset

An agile mindset means being open to experimentation, joint customer focus, feeling and taking responsibility together. Or show decisiveness. A mindset focused on positive influence and impact, resulting in an organization that responds quickly to changing circumstances, so that the value for the customer is as high as possible at all times.

You Own What You Observe!

Moving from agile to being agile requires a mindset that is focused on growth, learning new things, being open to feedback and learning by being inspired. This will be a growth mindset called, in contrast to a fixed mindset who wants to leave everything as it was.

A mindset is something challenging, because:

  • People only adapt when they feel the urgency
  • Everyone wants to move forward, but not everyone wants to change
  • Individual motivations partly determine behavior
  • You are not always aware of your behavior

We find a growth mindset not enough yet because a growth mindset it is mainly about learning from others and not yet enough about taking steps yourself - with impact.

Our mindset is therefore YOWYO! 'You Own What You Observe'

In other words, 'You own what you observe.'

When you notice something, you simply can no longer 'un-discover' it.
You have the choice to do something with those observations, which is… to take ownership.
