10 tips to work smarter: tip 10 - End the day positively

And? What went well today?
Door: Jennifer Boskeljon op 5 September 2021.
Read in: 2 minutes.

Especially during hectic and challenging periods like these, there is a good chance that you will end your working day with a dissatisfied feeling. There are always so many things left on your list that you have not been able to complete. And if you're not careful, you'll take this annoying feeling with you in your sparse and valuable free time. You want to avoid that, right?

  • Take the time each workday to consciously finish. Use these 15 minutes to update your todo list and mailbox and plan for the next day. This tidy feeling helps you to let go of work and enjoy your free time even more.
  • Most days you simply haven't been able to do everything you wanted to. Unfortunate! Try to put as little energy as possible into what you can't change. It is better to think about what you can do differently from tomorrow. And above all, be proud of what you have achieved, even if it was unplanned. Add these items to your list to tick it off for an extra shot of positive hormones… TADAA!!
  • Also, end the day on a positive note by thinking about what you are happy and grateful for just before going to bed. Try to find at least 3 things, no matter how small they are. This way you cultivate a positive mindset that you can enjoy for the rest of your life. Because energy follows attention. So: what you pay attention to will multiply in your life. Let that be the fun stuff, right?
