What does IPMA PMO mean?

An IPMA PMO is like the 'director' of project management within an organization.
It ensures that all projects are executed according to international standards and best practices.
This includes establishing guidelines, supporting project initiation, training project teams to IPMA standards, conducting assessments and audits, and sharing knowledge to take project management to the next level.
The ultimate goal is to make projects successful and meet global quality standards.

This is done from a department within the organization that focuses on supporting and managing projects, programs and portfolios.

IPMA training at Lagant: the 'flipped classroom' method

In many training courses, the teacher is the leader of the lesson, the focus of attention and the primary disseminator of the information. The teacher shows his presentation, often in the form of Powerpoint slides, answers questions, lets the participants practice the theory and gives feedback.

Participants in the flipped classroom are more involved. They study the theory at home and during class they work on problems live independently or in small groups under the guidance of a change guide. It is a form of blended learning that is already widely used in higher education. The change guide is available for questions during the study.

Organizations are increasingly working in a project-based manner. This also increases the need for broad support for projects. As a PMO employee you support projects, programs or portfolios within your organization in a professional manner. In this way you develop and manage processes, procedures, work instructions, tools and techniques. You also advise management on this. You ensure that projects within your organization start faster and that the learning points from projects are widely propagated.

This training gives you all the tools you need to prove your added value and optimally prepares you for the IPMA PMO-C exam.

For this training we recommend HBO work and thinking level.
In addition to the 4 days of training (classroom or virtual), approximately 10 hours of study load should be counted in preparation for each study day and 30 hours of study load for the exam.

As change guides, we really want to help participants to successfully carry out projects. We do not believe that you can achieve this by covering the theory in the training days. Our change guide, an experienced (IPMA) project manager / PMO-er, makes the connection between theory and practice and ensures that participants can practice with IPMA competencies during the classroom sessions. You learn the theory from our extensive online self-study and the accompanying book.
