You will learn the basic principles of ITIL service management and how organizations create value with digital services. You will also be introduced to important concepts such as outcomes, costs, and risks. Additionally, you will discover how customer journeys and service quality contribute to better service delivery.
Furthermore, you will learn how the four dimensions of service management work together and how the product and service life cycle helps organizations continuously improve service delivery.
Upon completion, you will understand how ITIL supports organizations in realizing agile and future-proof service delivery.
Content of the e-learning
The e-learning consists of multiple modules in which you learn the most important parts of ITIL step by step:
Foundation of value creation
In this module, you will learn how organizations deliver value with digital products and services. You will gain insight into value creation in a digital environment and into collaboration with customers and stakeholders. The concepts of outcomes, costs, and risks will also be covered, and you will learn how customer relationships and service quality contribute to better service delivery.
Integrated design of service management
In this module, you will discover how organizations effectively structure service management. You will learn how people, processes, technology, and partners together determine the quality of service delivery. You will also be introduced to the four dimensions of service management and the ITIL product and service lifecycle. Continuous improvement of service delivery is central to this.
Target audience
The ITIL® 5 Foundation e-learning is suitable for IT professionals, service managers, product owners, consultants, project managers, and other professionals who design, deliver, or improve digital services and want to study at their own convenience.
Result
Upon completion of the e-learning, you will understand the key principles of modern service management. You will know the core concepts of ITIL such as value creation, outcomes, costs, and risks, and you will understand how organizations deliver value through digital service delivery.
In addition, you can apply ITIL in practice. You can use the four dimensions of service management to analyze service delivery, and you understand how processes, technology, people, and partners influence each other.

Study load and prior knowledge
No specific prior knowledge is required for this e-learning. Basic knowledge of IT or service delivery can be helpful, however.
The total study load averages 40 hours.
The level of this e-learning is equivalent to MBO+ or HBO level.
ITIL® 5 Foundation Exam
The e-learning prepares you for the official ITIL® 5 Foundation exam from PeopleCert.
The exam lasts 60 minutes and consists of 40 multiple-choice questions. You pass if you answer at least 26 questions correctly.
