Lead organization-wide improvement programs with Lean Black Belt
During the Lean Black Belt, you learn to lead organization-wide improvement programs. You develop leadership, coach teams, and realize sustainable process optimization, with a focus on flow, culture, and continuous improvement.
You will learn to set up and manage larger improvement projects, translate improvement strategies into concrete plans, and apply Lean both tactically and strategically. In addition to in-depth Lean knowledge, there is an emphasis on leadership, change management, and coaching.

Prior knowledge and study load
For the standard training, knowledge of the basic Lean principles is recommended. The Lean Black Belt is intended for those who want to drive improvement at the organizational level.
The course comprises 9 class days from 9:00 AM to 17:00 PM, totaling 64 study hours. In addition to the class days, you are expected to do self-study and complete two Black Belt-level DMAIC projects as the practical part of the exam.

- Improvement organization and project charter
- Kaizen, 5S and standardization
- Process mapping and Value Stream Mapping (with First Time Right)
- Strategy and organizational development
- Leadership and coaching
- Process and performance and digital transformation
- Developing two DMAIC projects at Black Belt level
Target audience
The Lean Black Belt is intended for professionals who want to implement and drive Lean at the organizational level. The training is well-suited to executives and managers, project and program managers, and senior process improvers. Professionals responsible for improvement programs within their organization are also well-suited to this course. Knowledge of the basic Lean principles is recommended; a completed Lean Green Belt is required for the four-day upgrade.
Result
Upon completion, you set up and lead organization-wide improvement projects. You translate the improvement strategy into concrete plans, apply Lean tactically and strategically, and manage teams while involving employees. In this way, you achieve sustainable process optimization with a focus on flow and culture. You are prepared for the exam for the internationally recognized LSSA Lean Black Belt certificate.
The exam
The exam for the LSSA Lean Black Belt certificate consists of a theory and a practical section. For the practical section, you complete two DMAIC projects at Black Belt level. The certificate is internationally recognized.

40 multiple-choice questions, 120 minutes; 25 correct to pass.
