Become the linchpin in complex improvement projects with Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
During the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, you learn to lead complex, cross-departmental improvement projects with maximum impact. You combine Lean techniques with advanced statistical analyses while simultaneously developing your skills in leadership, coaching, and change management. It is the logical next step after the Green Belt.
You will learn to manage breakthrough projects across departments, statistically analyze process performance (using Minitab, among others), and coach Green Belts and teams. You will translate the Lean Six Sigma strategy into concrete projects. In addition to the Green Belt curriculum, you will delve into strategy and organizational development, leadership and coaching, non-parametric testing, regression and process control, Design of Experiments, and Design for Six Sigma.
The block-by-block structure spread over several months gives you ample time to put what you have learned into practice. You conclude with the internationally recognized LSSA Black Belt certificate.

Prior knowledge and study load
A Green Belt is not required for this 16-day program; this program includes the complete Green Belt curriculum. The Black Belt is a logical step after a Green Belt or comparable experience.
The course comprises 64 study hours, spread over 16 days from 9:00 AM to 17:00 PM. The structure is block-based and spread over several months. In addition to the class days, you are expected to do self-study and complete two Black Belt-level DMAIC projects as the practical part of the exam. You will receive a theory and practical exam voucher.

- Leadership, coaching and change management

Target audience
The Lean Six Sigma Black Belt is intended for professionals who want to lead complex improvement projects and guide others in doing so. The course aligns well with project managers and program managers, engineers and process improvers, business consultants and process owners, and data scientists who want to integrate Lean Six Sigma into their work. The Black Belt is a logical next step after completing a Green Belt or with comparable experience in process improvement.
Result
Upon completion, you will lead complex, cross-departmental improvement projects with maximum impact. You will statistically analyze process performance, using tools such as Minitab, and coach Green Belts and teams. You will translate the Lean Six Sigma strategy and implementations into concrete projects. In doing so, you will grow into a strategic improver and be prepared for the exam for the internationally recognized LSSA Black Belt certificate.
The exam
The exam for the LSSA Black Belt certificate consists of a theory and a practical section. For the practical section, you will complete two DMAIC projects at Black Belt level. You will receive a voucher for the theory and practical exams. The certificate is internationally recognized and is worth 10 ECTS credits in the Netherlands through the University of Twente.
