Lead improvement projects with Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
During the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, you learn to independently manage breakthrough projects. You combine Lean principles with statistical techniques and work in a structured manner according to the DMAIC model: Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control. In this way, you analyze processes in depth and improve them sustainably, supported by data.
You will learn to systematically analyze waste and process variation, objectively assess processes using data and statistics, and translate critical customer requirements into measurable CTQs. You will get hands-on experience with Minitab to visualize and analyze data. Topics such as process mapping, Value Stream Mapping, measurement system analysis, hypothesis testing, regression, process capability, Design of Experiments, and SPC are covered extensively.
You can choose from multiple formats and variants, from a full eight-day course to a compact fast track or bootcamp, classroom-based, blended, or virtual. The course leads to the internationally recognized LSSA Green Belt certificate.
Start dates
Prior knowledge and study load
No formal prior knowledge is required. A completed Yellow Belt or some experience with process improvement is a helpful foundation, but not a prerequisite. The training is intended for professionals who want to work on process improvement in a data-driven manner.
The course comprises a total of 64 study hours. Depending on the chosen variant, these are spread over 5 to 8 days (from 9:00 to 17:00). In addition to the class days, you can expect self-study via the digital learning environment and the completion of a practical assignment: a DMAIC project at Green Belt level forms the practical part of the exam.
Program
During the training, the following topics, among others, will be covered:
- The improvement organization and the role of the Green Belt
- Working according to the DMAIC model: Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control
- Kaizen and 5S, process mapping and Value Stream Mapping
- Statistical techniques, measurement system analysis and hypothesis testing
- Regression, process capability and Design of Experiments
- Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data analysis with Minitab
- Developing your own DMAIC improvement project at Green Belt level
Target audience
The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is intended for professionals who want to work on process improvement in a data-driven way and who wish to lead improvement projects themselves. The course is well-suited to engineers and process improvers, project leaders and project managers, quality managers and improvement specialists, as well as line managers and operations managers. Some affinity with process improvement is desirable. A completed Yellow Belt is not a requirement, but it does form a good foundation.
Result
Upon completion, you will independently manage breakthrough projects using the DMAIC method. You will systematically analyze waste and process variation, objectively assess processes using data and statistics, and translate critical customer requirements into measurable CTQs. You will visualize and analyze data using Minitab. In doing so, you make a demonstrable contribution to better and more stable processes and are prepared for the exam for the internationally recognized LSSA Green Belt certificate.
The exam
The exam for the LSSA Green Belt certificate consists of a theory and a practical section. For the practical section, you will complete a DMAIC project at Green Belt level. The certificate is internationally recognized and is worth 5 ECTS credits in the Netherlands via the University of Twente. In this variant, the theory and practical certification are included in the price.
