Advance from Lean Six Sigma Green Belt to Black Belt
Do you already have a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt? With the eight-day Black Belt upgrade, you will advance to the Black Belt level. You will learn to lead complex, cross-departmental improvement projects and combine advanced statistics with leadership and coaching.
The upgrade builds upon your existing knowledge and focuses on the in-depth topics: leadership and coaching, process and performance, digital transformation, non-parametric testing, regression and process control, Design of Experiments, and Design for Six Sigma. The Green Belt component is not repeated.
You train in a classroom setting and work with Minitab and real improvement projects. You conclude with the same internationally recognized LSSA Black Belt certificate as the full training.

Prior knowledge and study load
A completed Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is required for the upgrade. The upgrade is intended for those who already possess Green Belt knowledge and wish to progress to the Black Belt level.
The upgrade consists of 8 training days from 9:00 AM to 17:00 PM and is part of the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt learning track (64 study hours for the complete course). In addition to the training days, you are expected to do self-study and complete two Black Belt-level DMAIC projects as the practical part of the exam. The exam is optional; an LSSA exam voucher is available for this.

Target audience
The Lean Six Sigma Black Belt upgrade is intended for professionals with a completed Lean Six Sigma Green Belt who wish to advance to the Black Belt level. The training is well-suited for project managers and program managers, engineers and process improvers, business consultants and process owners, and data scientists who wish to further integrate Lean Six Sigma. A completed Lean Six Sigma Green Belt is a prerequisite for participation.
Result
After the upgrade, you will be able to lead complex, cross-departmental improvement projects. You will perform advanced statistical analyses, including with Minitab, coach Green Belts and teams, and translate the Lean Six Sigma strategy into concrete projects. You will achieve the same level as participants in the full training program and be prepared for the exam for the internationally recognized LSSA Black Belt certificate.
The exam
The exam is the full Lean Six Sigma Black Belt exam from the Lean Six Sigma Academy (LSSA) and consists of a theory and a practical section. For the practical part, you will complete two Black Belt-level DMAIC projects in accordance with the ISO 18404 criteria. The exam is optional; an exam voucher is available for this through an accredited training organization. The certificate is internationally recognized and is worth 10 ECTS credits in the Netherlands via the University of Twente.
