Manage improvement projects with Lean Green Belt
During the Lean Green Belt, you learn to improve processes faster and smarter. Using practical Lean techniques, you eliminate waste, shorten lead times, and achieve immediate results without in-depth statistical analysis.
You will learn to identify opportunities for improvement, convert waste into concrete actions, and structure processes using tools such as 5S and Value Stream Mapping. You will solve problems using techniques like the 5 Whys and the fishbone diagram, and learn to manage an improvement project in a structured manner.
You train in a classroom setting and interactively, with plenty of practical work. The program leads to the internationally recognized LSSA Lean Green Belt certificate.
Start dates
Prior knowledge and study load
No formal prior knowledge is required; the course is open to all levels. A completed Lean Yellow Belt or some experience with process improvement is a helpful foundation, but not a requirement.
The course consists of 5 training days from 9:00 AM to 17:00 PM (a total of 16 study hours). In addition to the training days, you are expected to do self-study via the digital learning environment and complete a practical assignment: a Lean improvement project at Green Belt level forms the practical part of the exam. The exam is optional.
Program
During the training, the following topics, among others, will be covered:
- The improvement organization and drafting a project charter
- 5S, standardization and Kaizen
- Process mapping
- Value Stream Mapping and First Time Right (FTR)
- Securing and closing: from project to lasting result
- Structuring a Lean improvement project
Target audience
The Lean Green Belt is intended for professionals who want to manage improvement projects themselves using practical Lean techniques. The course is well-suited to process improvers in government, service, logistics, and industry, as well as project leaders and engineers, continuous improvement specialists, and line managers and operational managers. Some affinity with process improvement is desirable. A completed Lean Yellow Belt is not a prerequisite, but it does form a good basis for this next step.
Result
Upon completion, you identify opportunities for improvement within processes and teams and convert waste into concrete actions. You structure processes using tools such as 5S and Value Stream Mapping, solve problems with techniques like the 5 Whys and the fishbone diagram, and manage improvement projects in a structured manner. In doing so, you achieve shorter lead times and less waste. You are prepared for the exam for the internationally recognized LSSA Lean Green Belt certificate.
The exam
The exam for the LSSA Lean Green Belt certificate consists of a theory and a practical section. For the practical section, you carry out a Lean improvement project at Green Belt level. The exam is optional; an exam voucher is available for this. The certificate is internationally recognized.
