Obeya Hosts are essential in facilitating effective Obeya support. By creating a safe environment, they create a space to inform each other and hold each other accountable for their responsibilities and agreements.
The Obeya host accelerates collective learning and decision-making processes and ensures the right interventions are implemented to collectively achieve the agreed-upon goals. Thanks to our training, you'll be well-prepared to function as an Obeya Host in this way and contribute to the success of your organization's initiatives.
Our curriculum is based on the 11 Obeya principles and focuses on the four quadrants of Mindset, Alignment, Workspace, and Content, giving you a comprehensive understanding of how to foster an open and collaborative environment within an Obeya.
By taking our training, you'll gain a solid foundation in Obeya practices, enabling you to accelerate your collective learning and decision-making processes and ultimately contribute to the success of your organization's Obeya initiatives. You'll achieve this through coaching in defining desired (measurable) results and potential roadblocks, and by asking the right questions.

Prior knowledge and study load
Passing the Obeya Fundamentals exam is a requirement.
Including the 2 training days, the study load should be approximately 32 hours.

Thought Obeya Host was all about theory? Well, you can breathe a sigh of relief. At Lagant/VertX, we share practical examples with you.
In this way:
- You will remember the theory much more easily;
- Will a training become an inspiring experience that stays with you?
- You can immediately apply the acquired knowledge within your organization.
We call this teaching method the "flipped classroom method." During a training day, you'll work with your fellow students on the material. You'll work on case studies, while your instructors guide you to further understand the topics.
The topics we cover and practice are:
- Hosting and facilitation and what is the difference between moderator, facilitator and host.
- The collaboration between the host and the builder.
- How does the hosting process work?
- Hosting and the 11 Obeya principles.
- Transformation and change.
- Hosting Obeya meetings.
Target audience
For anyone who has completed an Obeya Fundamentals certificate and has started (or wants to start) facilitating, setting up and implementing Obeya within their own organization.
This training is suitable for team leaders, team members, program managers, project leaders, PMOs, Lean experts, agile coaches, scrum masters, product owners, portfolio managers, business change managers, or internal consultants.
Result
- Know what is expected of an organization from you as an Obeya Host.
- Understand how the hosting process works and how it helps achieve organizational goals.
- Knowing how to coach constructive behavior in the Obeya.
- Know how to use Obeya effectively within the organization together with the builder.
- Knowing which interventions you can use and when.
- Being able to coach teams on the growth mindset.
- To be able to keep the teams focused on the described goals and key results (OKR) and thus maximise the impact of the teams on the organisation.
The exam
By completing the Obeya Builder training and passing the exam, you'll become certified as an Obeya Builder by the Obeya Association. Upon certification, you can also receive a free year of membership in the Obeya Association. (See also www.obeya-association.com)
The Obeya Association certificate is internationally recognized.
The online exam is a 60-minute Multiple Choice exam with 30 questions.
You pass if you answer 70% correctly.
