The 15th annual state of agile report states: “Agile is going mainstream.”
“We have seen a steady increase in the number of organizations adopting agile practices and processes, both within Development and non-IT groups such as Finance, Human Resources and Marketing,” the report states. When asked how long has your company been using agile, 65% of respondents said their company has significant experience with agile working (> 3 years of experience). Furthermore, 64% of respondents indicated that they want to increase their ability to respond to changing priorities.
The agile approach to software development and project management has gained tremendous popularity in almost every industry in our society. Partly thanks to the flexibility and the emphasis on transparency and the delivery of working products (software) that are delivered in short iterations (sprints).
Given the demand for speed and agility in today's digital transition, agile stands out as a people- and collaboration-oriented approach that helps professionals, teams and organizations achieve results faster and with pleasure. It is precisely this focus on ownership that increases the self-reliance of teams, which strengthens agility. We call that a YOWYO mindset.
Agile project management is increasingly the methodology by which projects are done. Agile working, agile knowledge and skills are therefore of continued importance for everyone who wants to be successful in the labor market.
