Get rid of that mess!

Is your life ruled by all kinds of clutter? Is your mailbox a cluttered mess? Is your desk covered in notes, lists and papers? Does this cause unrest and stress? Time to take back control...

There are 3 different types of clutter that all require a different approach. 

  1. Physical mess. A tidy environment gives a tidy head. Mark your calendar for a big cleanup. Ask yourself with every document or item: do I really need this? Store papers in containers and folders as much as possible.
  2. Digital mess. Develop the habit of processing or cleaning up emails immediately after opening them. Can't do this? Then mark them with a color or flag so you can answer them later. And also take a broom through your digital folders, shortcuts and the apps on your phone. 
  3. Mental mess. Often our heads are full of all kinds of to-dos and unfinished projects. Have you already planned those meetings or called that client back? Write down as many things as possible from your head on a (digital) to-do list. And plan tasks and deadlines in your agenda. This gives mental peace and allows you to do your work with more attention and focus.
