The official LSSA exam with internationally recognized partial certificate is a 180-minute open book exam that is available in Dutch and English and consists of 60 multiple choice questions of which you must have answered at least 39 correctly to pass.

The certificate is co-signed by the University of Twente.

The conditions for the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt practical exam are as follows:

  1. 1 Project is submitted at CIMM* level III or higher with a minimum impact of € 20.000 on an annual basis.
  2. The project has a significant impact on the organization.
This means that it has a financial impact of at least €20.000 or €50.000 on an annual basis or that another relevant CTQ has been improved (for example the lead time).
  3. The project must follow the PDCA or DMAIC roadmap.
  4. Projects are signed off by the Champion and/or Financial controller. They thereby declare that the project has been carried out professionally and improvements have been guaranteed.
  5. The language of the submitted project is English or Dutch.
  6. The project must be submitted within three years after passing the theoretical exam.

The project will be judged by Master Black Belts assigned by the LSSA. We recommend that the project be checked by an internal Lean Black Belt or Master Black Belt before submitting it.
The result of the practical assessment will be sufficient (passed) or unsatisfactory (failed). No score is given. In the event of an insufficient grade, brief feedback will be given regarding criteria that are considered 'missing' or 'incorrect'.

If you do not pass the exam, you have the option to register for the re-exam. The requirements for the re-examination and the costs are the same as the first exam. There is one option to retake the exam.
The certificate is co-signed by the University of Twente.
